Preliminary Information (as of August 5, 2009)

The hub of conference, with the registration desk, book exhibit, and breakout rooms will be the Centro Culturale Don Orione Artigianelli - Centro Congressi, Fondamenta Zattere ai Gesuati, Dorsoduro 909/A (http://www.donorione-venezia.it/), which is a former ecclesiastical complex with multiple courtyards, a restaurant, and other facilities.

The Fondazione Giorgio Cini on Isola San Giorgio Maggiore will serve as the other major site of conference. In addition to many breakout sessions, we shall hold the plenaries and the closing reception there. See http://www.cini.it/index.php/it/foundation. The Fondazione Giorgio Cini is also opening at the time of the conference its Vittore Branca International Center for the Study of Italian Culture. If you are interested in applying for a fellowship to the Center, go to http://www.cini.it/index.php/en/news/show/45.

The Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia has kindly joined in the enterprise and will be providing us with a generous number of breakout rooms. See http://www.unive.it/nqcontent.cfm?a_id=60550.

We have been fortunate enough to have the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti give us space for breakout sessions in its Palazzo Cavalli Franchetti and Palazzo Loredan . See http://www.istitutoveneto.it/roomsfacilities/index.htm and http://www.istitutoveneto.it/ivinglese/attivita/convegniescuole/18_26_04_2009.htm.

In addition, the
